A Pair of Pygmy Elephants

Description

Here are a pair of highly endangered Pygmy Elephants photographed along the edge of the Kinabatangan River, Sabah, Borneo. There are thought to be around 2,500 left in the wild. This small herd of approx. 50 individuals that I was fortunate enough to see after 3 days of searching is rapidly loosing it's habitat to palm oil and is being squeezed along a narrow corridor between the plantations and the Kinabatangan River.
